Book Overview

Turning Point is a highly emotive story surrounding the widely publicised sexual abuse case of College of Language and Culture Studies in which ten lecturers lost their job. The novel is a bold attempt to tell a well-rounded story of the case by a lecturer who nearly buckled under the pressure from a highly credulous and unforgiving society. Written in an unpretentious style with journalistic flair, the novel is also about a sensitive human being who rises above the vagaries of an ordinary life. The story is presented in crisp, straightforward episodes without literacy embellishments that often veil the messages in literacy writings. Turning Point is an honest work of non-fiction.

As the followers of CLCS sexual abuse case are drowning in ocean of media information, disinformation and insinuation, Pema Wangchuk, a accused, gathers his courage to not just share the in-depth information of the case but also ventures into exposing the tip of the iceberg of complex nature of case, due processes and survival as freeman.
Turning Point isn't simply a true story, it's a deep yearning for freedom and demand for truth.

I must applaud the bravery of the author to expose the story firsthand; while it served its purpose of justifying and answering the unforgiving media attention- the author somehow leaked the truth. While author may not be as guilty as he was charged, he declared himself that he isn't as innocent as he has claimed I this book. One could see the desperation.
As a work of literature, it need more depth.
