Lyonpo Dr. Tandin Dorji is a paediatrician and public health practitioner who joined politics in 2008 and went on to become the Foreign Minister after his party, Druk Nyamrup Tshogpa won the 2018 elections and formed the government. Before joining politics he worked in several hospitals around the country including the national referral hospital and served as technical advisor to several public health programs in the Ministry of Health. He has keen interest in social and public health research and worked at the Centre for Research Initiatives, which he cofounded.
