Rinzin Rinzin


Dr. Rinzin Rinzin is an author, poet, scholar and social activist. He worked as a Member of Parliament (National Council of the Parliament of Bhutan), lecturer, agriculturist, manager/administrator, management consultant and writer during the last two decades or so. His début book was 'The Talisman of Good Fortune and Other Stories from Rural Bhutan' (2002). He also authored a novel (‘Depa Bondeypa’s Relatives' in 2016), a collection of his own poems (‘Dewdrops in the Sun’ in 2018) and a number of children’s books. His poems have been widely published in various international anthologies, journals and magazines. As a scholar of applied science, Dr. Rinzin authored and published over two scores of research papers, training materials and books in-country and abroad. He served as a Focal Person for Rangelands of Bhutan to the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), Kathmandu, Nepal and Focal Point Scientist of Bhutan to Agriculture Information Centre (SAIC), Dhaka, Bangladesh. Dr. Rinzin earned five academic degrees in multiple disciplines (Agriculture Science, Business Administration, Business Management with Public Administration and Literature) from Australia, Bhutan, India and the Philippines with various awards for academic excellence. Currently, he serves as the Chief Country Coordinator (Bhutan) for the Foundation of SAARC Writers and Literature (FOSWAL), Executive Director of Bhutan Transparency Initiative (BTI) and holds a number of honorary posts in various international humanitarian, peace and literary organizations.}
