Book Overview

These two delightful folktales from Bhutan are retold by one of the country's leading writers, Kunzang Choden. In Aunty Mouse, a poor young orphan girl finds unexpected riches when she topples down a mousehole and is befriended by its charming occupant. But when a spoilt, rich brat tries to replicate the experience, her gifts are quite the opposite! Neypo shong gna? asks wandering monk to the little old lady who lives on the hill, "Is there room for me?" The question is repeated again and again as more and more visitors drop by. The kind lady welcomes them in, one by one. And the story ends with the teaching: "There will always be room in your home, as long as there is room in your heart." These charming picture books will make perfect bedtime reading for youngsters

Room in your heart, a story written by Kunzang Choden is one of my favourite Children's Literature. The book has a lovely message of love and kindness. The pictures in the book are so nice and show the true Bhutanese home. This story has made me think that loving and sharing is so important and we must do it so often.
My mother read me this book at first but later I was able to read myself.
In the book, the main character is an old lady, who lives in a small hut but the kindness she shows is far above her poverty.
Though poor, she shares her food and her little hut with all the visitors that come her way.
This has to be the true nature of a human being.
I love this book and the beautiful pictures.
Kunzang Choden is also one Bhutanese Author I love. I love her other books like Aunty Mouse.
